Taking the defects raised in your existing fire door survey and clarifying the real-world actions required to achieve compliance via our validation site survey — ensuring all identified remediation actions are accurate, actionable and necessary. From there we provide an accurate bespoke quotation, removing any requirement for variation, abortive costs or uplift if we were to attend to work on your door based solely on your existing fire door survey’s few words and photos.
Validation survey. We inspect the door and check it against the defects noted in the report you already have.
Full non-invasive inspection. For the same £99, we inspect the doorset ourselves end-to-end, to catch any compliance or safety defects that may have been missed or recently developed.
Your front door may form part of the building’s wider fire safety strategy, which means you cannot always arrange works independently.
Click the Book button, choose your service (validation or full inspection), and enter your details on Stripe’s secure page.
You receive a secure link to upload your report, photos, and any related letters. No login, no account to create.
A qualified engineer inspects the door in person, assessing the defects noted in your existing report against compliant evidenced remediation actions.
Clear scope, fixed price, realistic timescale. If you proceed within 90 days, the £99 is deducted from the works invoice.
If your building is 18 metres or taller, or has 7 or more storeys, it may be classed as a Higher Risk Building (HRB) — additional Building Safety Regulator rules may apply and some works may need formal approval before they can start. Aside from HRB-related approvals, the actions required to bring your doorset into compliance may still require approval from Local Authority Building Control (LABC), your building’s management organisation, or other invested parties. The £99 validation survey remains useful: it documents the door’s current condition, which is often required when making an application to any authority. You can still book if you are unsure, and we will advise after the survey.
The £99 + VAT is non-refundable once we attend site, because it pays for the engineer’s time and the photographic evidence you receive. If you proceed with the recommended works within 90 days, the £99 is deducted from your works invoice.
A qualified engineer attends your flat and, depending on the service you choose at booking, either validates the defects noted in your existing report OR carries out a full non-invasive inspection of the doorset. Either service includes an in-person inspection, photographic evidence, and a written quotation for any works we recommend.
If the report you’ve been given is recent and looks thorough, the validation survey is the usual choice — we confirm its findings against what we see on site. If the report is older, you’re not sure how accurate it is, or you want a fresh independent view, go for the full non-invasive inspection — we assess the whole doorset ourselves from scratch. Same price, same deliverables. You pick at Stripe checkout.
No. The validation survey is a non-invasive inspection — we are not carrying out works, so no permissions are required. You may however want to check with your managing agent or responsible person before committing to any works we subsequently quote for.
After you complete booking and upload your documents, we typically schedule the survey within 5–10 working days, subject to your availability and access arrangements.
See the “Practical works approval” section above. In short: you can still book, the survey is still valuable, but additional Building Safety Regulator approvals may be needed before any works can begin. Additional approvals from Local Authority Building Control (LABC), your building’s management organisation, or other invested parties may also apply. We will explain exactly what applies once we have seen the door.
Yes. Stripe will capture your billing details and we’ll issue a VAT invoice in Xero against the name and address you provide at checkout — whether that’s you personally or your company. Just enter the relevant details when asked.
We validate surveys through our ADR process to ascertain whether the works raised in the third-party survey are accurate, actionable and necessary. Often the information provided is incorrect, or we need to research compliant materials or products. This process means an accurate quote can be generated for works that can actually be actioned.
Through our experience, providing a quotation for the raised works without validating them only serves to extend the overall process and cost. For example, if we attended your property having provided a quote with no prior checks, it is highly likely those works would be unable to be undertaken or completed without additional cost and probable return visits due to the initial lack of information.
We pride ourselves on providing you, our client, with sound advice, industry information sharing, robust processes and complete transparency in every stage of our engagement. We will always recommend you seek a second opinion before instructing us, so you have peace of mind that you are collaborating with the most professional of service providers.
Through each stage of our ADR process we take, build and update a digital log — inclusive of photographic evidence to all works relating to your enquiry on traceability software. This includes the validation survey and remedial works. Paired with all relevant component data sheets, and relevant doorset data where available.
It is highly unlikely that any service provider can offer total and complete compliance. There are a multitude of factors under consideration — many of which are beyond the client and service provider’s control. We are always willing to discuss this topic in further detail with our clients, and always advise caution against a service provider offering compliance without question.
Depending on the remediation required, works can range from an hour to a full day. We will advise you of our expected duration ahead of scheduling.
We are always happy to streamline the process and assist residents that have formed a residents’ group for their building.
