What you are paying for

The £99 + VAT covers one of two services — you choose which at the point of booking:

Validation survey

We assess your flat entrance fire door against the defects noted in the report you supply to us. We confirm what is accurate, what has already been addressed, and what needs further attention.

Full non-invasive inspection

Alternatively, for the same charge, we complete a full non-invasive inspection of your doorset ourselves, to ensure no compliance or safety defects have been missed or recently developed since any earlier report.

Both services include an in-person visit by a qualified Jewel Passive Fire Protection engineer, a photographic record of the door’s condition, a written summary of findings, and a written quotation for any works identified.

Deposit and deduction

The £99 + VAT is treated as a deposit against future works.

  • If you proceed with our recommended works within 90 days of the survey date, the £99 is deducted in full from your works invoice.
  • If you do not proceed within 90 days, the £99 is retained as payment for the survey already delivered.
  • The deduction applies only to works commissioned from Jewel Passive Fire Protection Ltd.

Non-refundable once we attend site

Once a Jewel PFP engineer has attended site to carry out the survey, the £99 fee is non-refundable. This covers the engineer’s time, travel, photographic work, and the written report you receive.

If you need to reschedule, please contact us at least 24 hours before your booked slot and we will accommodate where possible at no extra cost.

Higher-risk building acknowledgement

By booking, you acknowledge that if your building is 18 metres or taller, or has 7 or more storeys, additional Building Safety Regulator (BSR) approvals may be required before any works can commence.

The survey is an inspection and advisory service. It does not authorise, approve, or commission works. Where BSR or other third-party approvals are needed, we will explain what applies once we have seen the door.

Our responsibilities

We will attend your property at the agreed date and time with a qualified engineer, carry out the service you selected at booking, provide a photographic record, and deliver a written summary and quotation within a reasonable period after the visit.

Our services are advisory. Any works we subsequently carry out will be the subject of a separate agreement and invoice.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for providing:

  • Accurate property and contact information at the point of booking
  • Reasonable access to the flat entrance door at the agreed time
  • Any fire door report or correspondence from your managing agent you have received
  • Any other information relevant to the door’s condition, history, or known defects

Data protection

Your personal data and uploaded documents are processed by Jewel Passive Fire Protection Ltd for the purposes of delivering this service. Data is stored in compliance with UK GDPR. Payment

Payment is taken securely by Stripe at the point of booking. Card details are never shared with or stored by Jewel PFP. A VAT invoice is issued automatically via Xero to the billing details you provide.

If you are paying through a company, please enter the company name and VAT number (if applicable) in the Stripe checkout so the invoice is raised correctly from the outset.
